Critical Research to Provide Unique Perspectives on Developing Industry Markets
Reston, VA - PRIMIR, the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization, announced that the organization has two critical studies underway on timely topics for completion by the end of 2013.
The first, UV/EB Curing Technologies in Printing will provide unique perspectives since there is limited data and information available about the use of UV and EB curing technologies in print markets. This new PRIMIR study will investigate the application of these technologies in the various print markets and end-use segments, as well as the barriers, drivers, and opportunities for further adoption in North America and Europe.
According to Clay Oliff, Sales Manager, Polytype America Corp. and PRIMIR Task Force Co-chair, "I.T. Strategies was selected to conduct the research based upon what the PRIMIR members felt was a superior grasp of the goals and deliverables for this research study. The primary research is well underway and we anticipate that the I.T. Strategies team, led by Vice President Marco Boer, will bring a fresh, unbiased outlook about the UV/EB curing technologies market."
The study findings will be presented at the PRIMIR 2013 Winter meeting, December 9-11 in Chicago, IL.
Also to be presented during the December meeting are findings from another key research study, Packaging in Emerging Markets (Latin America & Asia-Pacific).
The production of industrial and consumer products in emerging markets will influence many facets of the printing and packaging industry. This changing landscape has a high potential to change the current global manufacturing environment and in turn is certain to have on impact on mature markets. However, as emerging markets experience changes in labor, materials, energy and sustainability costs, PRIMIR anticipates there may be shifts in production (manufacturing as well as packaging) within or from the regions back to developed markets. This study will explore the potential changes and impacts on printed packaging both domestically as well as in emerging markets.
According to Kelly Golden, Business Manager, International Paper, and Task Force Co-chair, "LPC was selected to conduct this research for PRIMIR. They exhibited the best grasp of the project scope, and demonstrated extensive knowledge of both the domestic and global packaging market. LPC has in-country resources in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, who will address the regional packaging market trends."
Eric Frank, Chairman of the PRIMIR Executive Committee noted, "This new packaging study will enhance our understanding of the packaging market and opportunities both domestically and in emerging countries. The UV/EB study will demonstrate how and where curing technologies are being implemented, and what opportunities exist for PRIMIR members."
