Chesapeake Label Sites Awarded Investors in People Bronze Standard

Press release from the issuing company

Chesapeake Label sites in Bourne and Wrexham have just been awarded the new Investors in People (IIP) Bronze standard. This certification upgrades each site’s existing IIP status and recognises both sites have achieved an additional 26 requirements above the core IIP standard.

Spencer Johnston, General Manager, Chesapeake Labels – UK & Ireland, said, “I’m delighted to announce that Bourne and Wrexham are the first sites within Chesapeake to gain this important standard. This is part of our drive to hone and develop key employee skills across all Chesapeake Label’s operations”.

The IIP Bronze assessment at both Bourne and Wrexham successfully took place towards the end of May. The assessment required both sites to demonstrate how they have developed their working practices by investing in training and its impact on business performance. The move to upgrade the site’s IIP status is part of a wider programme incorporating a series of focused training courses. The training programme included staff at all three label sites in Bourne, Dublin and Wrexham and will help the business underpin employee development on a long-term basis.

The IIP Assessor, Jenny Shaw, said, “I’m extremely impressed with the synergy across the three sites. There’s a strong culture of sharing ideas, team spirit and enthusiasm.”

Spencer Johnston, went on to say, “Our investment in new technology needs to be matched by equally professional personal development. This will provide Chesapeake Labels with an enhanced capability to respond through a skilled and committed workforce.”
