Press release from the issuing company
Walsall College, home of the Roland DG Academy, has been awarded an ‘Outstanding Grade’ following its recent Ofsted inspection. It is the first Further Education provider in the UK to receive the outstanding grading under Ofsted’s new inspection framework and the grade places the College firmly in the top 10 ten per cent of colleges and other learning institutions in the UK.
Says Joe Wigzell, Roland Academy and Creative Centre Manager, Roland DG (UK): “We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Walsall College on being awarded its Outstanding Grade from Ofsted. It’s an excellent achievement and a reflection of all the hard work put in by the College over many years to ensure it offers a wide ranging, relevant and informative educational curriculum focused on students and on results.
“The Roland Academy has now been based at Walsall College for seven years and has over this time grown to become a well-established part of the curriculum and a loyal partner to the College, educating hundreds of sign makers and printers in the process. The Academy is a core part of our commercial proposition at Roland. We are very proud of it and the contribution it has made to Walsall College’s educational excellence and the up-skilling of our customers and the industry in general.”
The Roland Academy offers a range of courses for printers and sign makers looking to either up-skill or refresh their technical and industry knowledge. As well as courses in intermediate digital print, basic application and finishing, vehicle wrapping and the Academy sign-making apprenticeship courses, it also has the recently launched Roland Boot Camps – one day training courses focused on teaching users how to maximise their investment in Roland products.
