Ricoh Dealer Gateway Goes Live

Press release from the issuing company

Smooth exchange of electronic information enables dealers to be more efficient than ever in competitive market

MALVERN, Pa. – Office equipment dealers working with Ricoh Americas Corporation and using Digital Gateway, Inc.’s (DGI) e-automateTM management systems can now seamlessly accept electronic product information from Ricoh through the Ricoh Dealer Gateway, enabling them to more quickly and efficiently transact business with Ricoh.

“We could not be more excited to see Ricoh and Digital Gateway work together to streamline the process for getting new items, as well as price, description and other product updates, from Ricoh into our accounting system, e-automate,” said Chap Breard, Owner of Monroe Office Equipment. “I will never have to manually enter product and configuration data from a PDF or spreadsheet again. The Ricoh Dealer Gateway is just another great tool in my toolbox to be more efficient in this ever-changing and competitive market.”

Launched today, the Ricoh Dealer Gateway affirms Ricoh’s commitment to being easy for dealers to do business with. The technology provides dealers with real-time access to information via Ricoh’s Oracle ERP system through a consolidated dealer portal that interfaces with DGI’s e-automate system and similar ERP systems from DGI’s sister companies, OMD Corporation and La Crosse Management Systems, Inc. The automated systems interface pushes model, configuration, part, supply and other data from Ricoh directly into the dealers’ management systems. Dealers no longer have to manually key in the information, a time- consuming, error-prone process that can complicate ordering and daily operations.

“As a dealer, I really appreciate the responsiveness to suggestions and openness to feedback from both Ricoh and Digital Gateway on this project,” said Anita Willoughby, Purchasing Director, Systel Business Equipment. “It has been a pleasant experience to see the dealers’ suggestions heard and turned into the enhancements in the software so it will actually work the way all of us on the front lines need it to.”

Future plans for upgrades to the system include features that would permit a dealer to place equipment orders, track them, check Ricoh inventory and read printer/MFP meters in the field through the gateway.

The Ricoh Dealer Gateway is being developed by Digital Gateway, Inc., whose e-automate dealer management software is the choice of a majority of Ricoh dealers. “We deeply support Ricoh’s commitment to the dealers’ success,” said Laryssa Alexander, President of DGI. “This is

a model for seamless dealer/manufacturer collaboration, one we hope to see replicated across this industry and the entire business world.”

Said Jim Coriddi, Vice President, Dealer Division, Ricoh Americas Corporation, “DGI’s automated systems interface helps increase dealer efficiencies through better management of their business-critical information. This is another major step in our commitment to make Ricoh easier for dealers to do business with.”
