PrintControl, RapidCheck and tFlow software packages leverage the power of X-Rite instruments to monitor and control color in the print and packaging industries

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan - Latin American dealers of X-Rite Inc. and its Pantone subsidiary are now offering the PrintControl® and RapidCheck® software packages from Tucanna Software & Development that leverage the power of X-Rite instruments to bring more efficiency to the print and packaging industries. 

Companies can use PrintControl and RapidCheck in conjunction with a wide range of X-Rite measurement devices such as its i1Pro 2, eXact, IntelliTrax, EasyTrax, SpectroEye and iCPlate instruments to improve accuracy in prepress workflow, speed press setup and reduce waste. Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., X-Rite Pantone is a worldwide leader in color standards and the design and manufacture of color management solutions for printing, packaging, photography, graphic design, video, and industrial applications. 

X-Rite will be bringing these solutions to Latin America through its dealership network, said Luca Tubbini, the company's director of sales for the region. 

Prepress and press personnel can immediately harness PrintControl and RapidCheck to consistently print to global and corporate color standards with a minimum of effort because the software packages have been designed to work seamlessly with many X-Rite color measurement instruments and Color Exchange Format (CxF) color libraries, said Darrian Young, CEO of Tucanna. Based in Morgan Hill, Calif., Tucanna has been developing software solutions for offset, flexo, digital and large/wide format printing and mixed environments since 2006.

Young said PrintControl and RapidCheck supports G7, SWOP and ISO or other user-defined in-house standards, allowing packaging converters, print service providers and printers to handle a variety of jobs using the standards that their customers specify. 

Tubbini said X-Rite has introduced a number of instruments recently that work seamlessly with PrintControl and RapidCheck, as well as with tFlow®, a cross-platform (Mac or PC)  workflow package that enables comfortable, fast and secure PDF processing for digital and traditional print businesses. The tFlow package offers the type of user friendly workflow for file optimization and color management that complements X-Rite's award-winning i1Pro 2 spectrophotometer that is integrated with i1Profiler software into X-Rite’s new i1Basic Pro 2, i1Photo Pro 2, and i1Publish Pro 2 solutions. 

Tuccana's PrintControl and RapidCheck solutions are being used in the print and packaging industry in tandem with X-Rite's recently introduced eXact spectrophotometer that ensures accurate printing of both CMYK and spot colors. The LEGO Group, the Danish company known worldwide for its colorful plastic play materials, recently used a combination of X-Rite's eXact spectrophotometers and PrintControl and RapidCheck as critical quality control enablers for its printing and packaging needs.
