Shorter production times, first-class product quality, revolutionary technology: Muller Martini will present its latest industrial solutions for printing and print finishing at its booth E1-050 at China Print in Beijing from May 14–18, 2013.

It will present its latest solutions for printing and print finishing to the international audience at this year’s China Print from May 14–18, 2013, in China’s capital city of Beijing. 

Perfect Binding for the Highest Demands

The Alegro perfect binder, which made its world premiere at the drupa 2012, will be presented to the Asian market for the first time. The core of this intelligent machine concept is the Motion Control technology, which allows all stations to be driven directly and controlled individually. This system optimizes all product movements, reduces setup times and allows for maximum production performance in the shortest time. The settings have a direct effect on the product, with a result that fulfills the highest demands for quality products. 

The Alegro perfect binding line is completed by the Solit three-knife trimmer, which is equipped with the patented SmartPress technology for outstanding trimming quality. Thanks to this unique, servo-controlled technology, the air in the book block can be released optimally.

Trend Towards Personalization

Print run sizes for magazines, periodicals, brochures as well as books are currently falling but, at the same time, product variety is on the rise. The options for personalizing products are creating new and innovative business models for graphic arts businesses.

As Nielsen emphasizes, the trend towards smaller print runs and personalized products can also be seen in China. These new forms of print products, such as photo books, are currently providing an impetus for growth in the Chinese graphic arts industry, and there is a growing interest in digital printing there. 

Cost-Effective Finishing of Short Runs

At the China Print 2013, Muller Martini will show how ultra-short print runs can be finished flexibly and cost effectively on the SigmaLine featuring the SigmaFolder and SigmaCollator. The SigmaLine makes consistent use of the advantages of digital printing and links digital printing and print finishing to a unique complete system. The Connex data and process management system from Muller Martini also comes into its own by enabling the seamless interplay and optimal control of all aggregates. 

In addition to the Alegro and the SigmaLine, Muller Martini will present a printing unit from the VSOP variable-format web printing press as well as a Ventura MC book sewing machine. The ultimate operating convenience and a series of control devices ensure a particularly high level of reliability and operating security.

At its trade fair booth, Muller Martini will be producing books live and with the highest level of automation.
