MeasureColor Adds Major Software Enhancements

Press release from the issuing company

MeasureColor today announces three remarkable new technologies to be introduced at the FTA InfoFlex meeting in San Diego next week. The first is a new color analysis technology called “ChromaTrack”, which will for the first time give printers fast and accurate help in determining whether an ink can be printed within color tolerance on a multitude of substrates. The second is the introduction of “StreamView” to MeasureColor Packaging Edition, allowing printers to measure and compare multiple print streams side-by-side from one simple user interface. Finally, we are proud to introduce our new ColorDrive Quality Control Client for use with the Schawk ColorDrive Platform.

ChromaTrack
One of the most costly problems a printer can face is when an ink does not match a color standard on press. Many hundreds or thousands of feet of material or cut sheets can be wasted while the press crew and ink department try and determine if the ink on press can be made ok by just a density or concentration adjustment. Additionally, a similar challenge is faced when an ink is printed on a new substrate for the first time as operators try to determine the best print density by tone and check. Using ChromaTrack, a printer and ink technician will see a dashboard of information showing them what the Delta E is predicted to be at any printed ink film or concentration. All it takes is one sample from the first pull on the press. This turns out to be an amazing time and material savings feature, getting the press into production and printing sellable material.

StreamView
When printing on a flexographic printing press, labels frequently print in streams or multiple copies side-by-side. MeasureColor’s StreamView allows the simultaneous display of multiple positions for direct and easy comparison. Both solid and screen value results are displayed by graphs indicating the relative distance to tolerance. Pass/Fail symbols also help draw attention to samples that need it the most.

ColorDrive
Schawk has selected MeasureColor as a development partner to produce a completely integrated quality control client to the ColorDrive system. By dynamically communicating with the Schawk server, our measurement client provides bold graphical feedback, specific to the print attributes desired for monitoring. This lets printers know instantly how they’re performing and scoring on their important brand work.
