The DAK Group Deepens Commitment to the Packaging Industry with Senior Bankers Dennis Mehta and Simon James

Press release from the issuing company

Senior industry experts are enlisted to advise companies during changing times in the print and packaging supply chain

Rochelle Park, NJThe DAK Group, a leading national and international middle market investment bank with a thirty year track record of serving the packaging industry, today announced that Dennis Mehta (Artwork Systems, Esko) and Simon James (Artios, Esko) have combined resources with The DAK Group to provide M&A financial advisory services from the unique perspective of industry insiders in packaging and printing. Mehta and James both bring extensive experience as entrepreneurs and senior executives.

Simon James most recently served as President of the North American division and Global VP Marketing of Esko, a subsidiary of Danaher (NYSE: DHR).  Prior to that, he founded Artios, a developer of structural design software eventually sold to Barco, in turn acquired by Esko. In 2000, he was named one of the ‘Fifty Most Influential Packaging Leaders of the 20th Century’ by Boxboard Containers International.

Dennis Mehta has demonstrated a commitment to growing software and investment companies for the past thirty years. Previously, Mehta built and sold PCC, a prepress software developer, to Artwork Systems. In turn, Mehta was instrumental in positioning the resultant company, PCC Artwork Systems, for sale to Esko. Mehta’s specialty is the growth and capture of enterprise value, including a focus on start up enterprises and venture capital.

According to Alan Scharfstein, President and founder of The DAK Group, "Changing times have created exciting opportunities for the print and packaging supply chain. The increased focus on packaging as a primary element of product marketing, the uptick in the quality of packaging demanded by retailers for their private brands, the shift of technical resources no longer maintained in-house by brand owners – all offer great opportunities for supply chain companies to address new customer needs."

"In today’s global and active market, every company within the industry should evaluate all options now to maximize the value of its business. Dennis’ and Simon’s in-depth knowledge of the industry offers clients a deep level of expertise and experience in evaluating strategic options. We, and our clients, look forward to their insights and contributions."
