Agfa Graphics announced today that several Agfa Graphics newspaper customers were declared winners in the America East Print Quality Contest. Judges examined ten different copies of each entrant’s newspapers and evaluated each in a variety of categories, including: black ink and color ink laydown, color registration, halftone quality, page alignment, overall print alignment and overall print appearance.
The winners who use products from Agfa Graphics are:
- Under 25,000 circulation division: The News-Item (PA), which uses :Energy Elite plates and 125 HX processors (1st place); The Times News (PA) 2nd place, and The Republican-Herald (PA), 3rd place - both use Agfa Graphics' :Energy Elite plates, chemistry and processors.
- 25,000 - 50,000 circulation division: The Frederick News-Post (MD), which uses an :Advantage N-DL CtP system and a :Polaris XEV-S CtP system with :N91V plates (1st place); The Times Leader (PA), which uses Agfa Graphics' :N94-VCF, two :Advantage DL130 CtP systems, :Arkitex workflow and :Arkitex IntelliTune image enhancement software (2nd place); The Eagle Tribune (MA), which uses the :Advantage DL CtP system and :N91V plates (3rd place).
- Blue ribbon winner: The Daily Review (PA), which uses the :Advantage N CtP system and :N91V plates.
