KBA Signs Purchase Agreement With Pantone For Customized Rapida 105 Sheetfed Press

March 22, 2004 -- Pantone, Inc., a worldwide leader in color communication and color technology based in Carlstadt, N.J., has agreed to purchase a new highly-customized KBA Rapida 105 41”sheetfed offset press from KBA North America, a leading sheetfed offset press manufacturer based in Williston, VT. This will be Pantone’s second sheetfed press from KBA. Two years ago, Pantone, Inc. installed a KBA Rapida 72 six-color plus coater in its pressroom. “In 1963, Pantone embarked on a course to provide the graphic arts industry with a quality and reliable language of color communication,” explains Lawrence Herbert, founder and CEO of Pantone, Inc. “The reproduction of color to exact standards is of vital importance to designers, printers, and clients. It is scheduled to be tested by Pantone’s founder and CEO, vice president of manufacturing and color technology, technical director, and press crew shortly after Drupa in May and delivered shortly thereafter. Pantone plans to begin printing on the press in early September 2004.
