Trevose, Pennsylvania - Douglas P. Yeager, Assistant Chairman & COO and Senior Partner of Alcom Printing Group in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, has been awarded the prestigious honor of being the Neographics 2013 Person of the Year”.

Neographics is one of the nation’s largest regional graphic communications competitions dedicated to recognizing and rewarding the quality and service that is provided by the graphic arts communications, packaging and converting industries to their worldwide customers. Neographics is managed by the Graphic Arts Association located in Trevose, Pennsylvania. The Graphic Arts Association, a not-for-profit regional print trade association, manages PA, DE and NJ for the Printing Industries of America.

The “Person of the Year” award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the graphic arts industry. Contributions are defined as service to the industry, demonstrated leadership and personal sacrifice for the benefit of the industry. Candidates must also be an outstanding citizen in their perspective communities.

Mr. Yeager began his career in printing through a Vocational Technical School Cooperative Education Program while working at Lehigh Litho (now Alcom) during his high school years. He then went on to the Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Printing Management. Doug returned to Lehigh Litho (Alcom) and helped advance the company’s performance, facilitated the merger of two cultures into one facility and unified the workforce to focus on the customer while increasing productivity and quality. He also was a major part of the team that managed the design and construction of Alcom’ s present 120,000 square feet structure.

Mr. Yeager has served on the Graphic Arts Association’s Board of Directors since 2001 and as Chairman from 2010 to 2012. He was actively involved in the Lehigh Valley Club of Printing House Craftsmen and ensured that the Scholarship Fund of the Craftsmen moved to the Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF~ when the Lehigh Valley Club disbanded. Doug served on the board of directors of PGSF and eventually became Chairman of the Board. He currently serves as a member of the Printing Technical Advisory Committee of the local Vocational- Technical School in Harleysville. He was a member of the Education Summit presented at several Graph Expo shows and currently is a sponsor of the RIT chapter of TAGA. Doug was inducted into the Ben Franklin Honor Society of the Printing Industries of America in 2010.

Doug contributes to his community by being a church Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He is also a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Lehigh Consistory and Rajah Shrine Temple.
