Danvers, MA – Techkon USA will be hosting a free webinar on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00PM (EST) featuring an intimate interview with printing industry guru, Frank Romano, during which Mr. Romano will provide critical insight on the future of the printing industry, as well as address the “Paperless in 2013” debate which recently gained momentum with Google’s announcement that they have become a member of the Paperless Coalition, along with HelloFax, Manilla, HelloSign, Expensify, Xero, and Fujitsu ScanSnap.  In addition, webinar participants will have the privilege of seeing first-hand the museum-worthy printing collectibles and memorabilia in Mr. Romano’s private home library.  Participants will also have an opportunity to personally interact with Mr. Romano during the Q&A portion of the webinar.

Frank Romano's career in the printing and publishing industries has spanned more than 50 years.  Mr. Romano earned notoriety and inestimable prestige as the editor of the International Paper Pocket Pal.  He is also the author of thousands of articles and 45 books, including the 10,000-term Encyclopedia of Graphic Communications (with Richard Romano), the standard reference in the field.

Mr. Romano lectures extensively as one of the industry’s foremost keynote speakers.  He conceptualized many of the workflow and applications techniques of the industry and was the principal researcher on the landmark EDSF study, Printing in the Age of the Web and Beyond.  Mr. Romano has been quoted in many newspapers and publications, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Times of London, USA Today, Business Week, and Forbes, as well as on television and radio.

Frank Romano was recently named the 2013 Man of the Year for North America by Graphics of the Americas.  He continues to teach courses at Rochester Institute of Technology and other universities; he is Professor Emeritus at the School of Media Studies; and he regularly works with students on unique research projects.

“Techkon USA is thrilled to work with Frank Romano to present a webinar that, for many in the printing business, offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about our industry from one of its greatest visionaries,” said George Adam, President and Chief Technical Officer for Techkon USA.  “We look forward to offering webinar participants the opportunity to gain critical perspective on the marketplace of the future by examining with Mr. Romano the ‘Paperless in 2013’ debate spurred by Google’s recent announcement of their participation in this controversial initiative.  Our webinar with Frank Romano promises the perfect blend of where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how your company can use that knowledge to be successful.  I would venture to say that Frank Romano has earned his place in printing history with the likes of Ben Franklin and Johannes Gutenberg.  And, we are honored to work with someone of his caliber.”
