Goss International scoops Brazilian Best Supplier award for third year

Press release from the issuing company

For the third year running, Goss International and its customers have had great success at the Fernando Pini Awards, Brazil’s foremost printing award ceremony. While Goss International was named ‘Best Supplier’ in the heatset web offset category, Goss technology users also triumphed, winning each of the individual heatset web offset categories.

Among the victors were Goss press users Log & Print Gráfica e Logística, Grafica Pallotti, Posigraf and Plural Gráfica, printing on a variety of presses including Goss M-600 and Sunday 2000, 3000 and 4000 press models. Log & Print Gráfica also won the overall accolade of best web offset printer.

The Fernando Pini Brazilian Awards for Graphic Excellence were formed in 1991 to recognize the best in print media and promote excellence in print communications. Over 2,000 people attended the event to see the winners of 63 categories revealed, of which nine categories related to web offset production.

Sponsored by Abigraf (the Brazilian Graphic Industries Association) and ABTG (the Brazilian Graphic Technology Association), the ‘Best Supplier’ award was judged on feedback received from association member companies.

“The ‘Best Supplier’ award is decided purely by the market we serve, the web offset printers of Brazil, so winning it yet again this year is the highest endorsement we could ever hope for,” explains Vitor Dragone, general manager of Goss International Brazil. “More importantly, it signifies that our customers have also awarded us with their trust and confidence – a responsibility that we take very seriously indeed. We’re very proud of this achievement but we won’t rest of on laurels!”

As head of the Goss Brazil organization headquartered in Sao Paulo, Dragone leads a highly experienced team of 14 operatives. In direct contact with Goss International product development, engineering, manufacturing and aftermarket resources in the United States, Europe and Asia, they provide sales and support tailored to the specific requirements of their customers in the Brazilian market.

According to Dragone, this localization of global expertise has helped the team to consolidate its offering to the installed base and achieve overall web offset market leadership in Brazil. “Close to 20 new Goss web presses – nearly 100 units – have been installed in the last five years, ranging from 16-page M-500 and M-600 models to 24, 32, and 64-page Sunday press systems. The fact that these have been for repeat customers as well as new Goss customers is especially rewarding to us.”
