Press release from the issuing company

Facility Becomes More Lean and Profitable Since Becoming SGP Certified

Bohemia, NY -- Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership, a non-profit organization providing sustainability certification in the graphic communications industry, today announces that the Lakeland, FL facility of Douglass Screen Printers (DSP)--located on New Tampa Highway--is SGP Certified. DSP is a screen and digital printing company offering a full array of weather-durable graphics such as decals, posters, banners, signs, tags, wraps and nameplates. The SGP Certification validates DSP's sustainable print operations, which have helped the organization to become more lean and profitable by reducing waste and adding green-based product lines.

"SGP Certification has positioned DSP as Florida's first green, screen and digital printer," comments Lane K. Hickey-Wiggins, President/CEO. "This achievement has renewed pride in our company, knowing that it will positively affect our community and our customers, in addition to our conscience."

"It takes commitment for print facilities to become SGP Certified, and the benefits are worth it," comments Paul Lilenthal, SGP Chairman of the Board. "Certification has not only helped to improve Douglass' operational efficiencies, it has positioned them as a leading sustainable printer in both their state and print processes."

DSP uses SGP Certification to publicly demonstrate its commitment to protecting and preserving the environment, as well as enhancing its competitive advantages. SGP Certification also prepares DSP to respond to the sustainability demands from both the public and private sectors. In addition to promoting opportunity, equity and improved quality of life for its staff, SGP Certification has created a ripple effect for its employees as the organization continues to see more and more suggestions and ideas.
