HUNT VALLEY, Md. — MLP U.S.A., Inc. has announced that a new Diamond 3000LX sheetfed press with ultraviolet printing capabilities is up and running at Century Packaging, Inc. The six-color, 40-inch press shares the pressroom floor at the company’s headquarters in East Brunswick, N.J., with an identical Mitsubishi press that has been in operation since 2009.

Century Packaging installed the new Diamond 3000LX to augment its packaging printing capacity. The Diamond 3000LX is acclaimed for its ability to handle a wide range of stock types and thickness. It delivers high-quality printing on paper, packaging board and plastic substrates ranging in thickness from 0.0016 to 0.040 inches.

Century Packaging outfitted the press with SimulChanger. The automated plate-changing system replaces all six plates with new ones simultaneously in just over one minute.

Interdeck and end-of-press UV-curing units allow for curing at higher production speeds. The Grafix Hi-Cure system features three interdeck UV modules and three UV lamps at the back end of the press.

Established in 1986, Century Packaging caters to cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and automotive products companies, among others. Its customers look for only the highest quality packaging. In addition to Mitsubishi presses, Century Packaging’s equipment roster includes die cutters, folder/gluers, paper joggers, aerators and guillotine cutters.
