Northern Ohio Printing Purchases an MGI JETvarnish 3D

Press release from the issuing company

The JETvarnish 3D was selected as a MUST SEE 'EM at GRAPH EXPO 2012

MELBOURNE, Fla – MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the manufacturer of multi-substrate digital printing and finishing solutions, confirmed today that Northern Ohio Printing has purchased a JETvarnish 3D inkjet spot UV coater.

Located in Cleveland, Northern Ohio Printing was founded in 1994 by Gary Chmielewski as a print and marketing solutions company providing design, print, cross media and mailing services to corporations who want to grow their brand and maintain their brand integrity. From the beginning, Northern Ohio Printing has leveraged the best new technologies, combining them with a workforce of experienced craftsmen in order to produce a superior product at the most competitive cost. In addition, each of Northern Ohio Printing's craftsmen is cross-trained to do at least two other production functions, enhancing an already lean operation.

Always on the lookout for new product and service offerings which will benefit their clients and attract new business, Chmielewski started to research options for digital spot UV coating in early 2012. After thoroughly evaluating the process and equipment offerings available, Gary selected MGI's JETvarnish 3D as the best solution for Northern Ohio Printing.

"The flexibility to choose between the flat and raised 3D effects of the MGI JETvarnish 3D was a key factor in our decision" said Chmielewski.  "The ability to move between the two modes allows us to offer more solutions to our existing client base."

"We see tremendous growth potential for the JETvarnish 3D's process" continued Chmielewski. "Direct marketing communications are a natural fit for digital spot UV coating. I also see the JETvarnish 3D opening up new opportunities for us in the area of light packaging, point-of-purchase and retail communications"

Sales and service are handled by Graphco, MGI's distribution partner for Ohio, who provides outstanding local support for MGI's entire line of digital solutions, including the JETvarnish 3D and the flagship Meteor series of digital presses.

The Northern Ohio Printing order was signed at GRAPH EXPO, which was an excellent show for MGI in terms of not only orders taken, but in terms of qualified leads and booth traffic.

"Following a record-setting drupa showing, we had high expectations for GRAPH EXPO 2012 and these expectations were met," said Michael Abergel, Executive Vice President and Managing Director for MGI USA, Inc. "The response to our two new product debuts (the JETvarnish 3D and the Meteor DP8700 S digital press) was great and it reaffirms that graphic arts professionals are choosing our versatile digital solutions to differentiate themselves in a competitive market  by offering new digital services and increasing their profitability."

JETvarnish 3D inkjet spot UV coater
The JETvarnish 3D, honored as a Must See 'em in the Postpress Finishing – Digital and Small-Format category, builds on the worldwide commercial success of the JETvarnish inkjet spot UV coater, giving graphics professionals a dual set of tools to increase profitability - traditional flat spot UV coating and new 3D raised effects, together for the first time in one production unit.

The JETvarnish 3D features dramatically increased production speed for flat spot UV coating (up to 3,000 20 x 29" sheets per hour) and new 3D raised effects up to 100 microns in thickness.  Variation of thickness within the same design is possible through file management, allowing texture creation. These beautiful tactile effects allow end users to differentiate their brands and add a new dimension of visual appeal to a wide range of projects, such as book covers, brochures, business cards, pocket folders, postcards, packaging, photo books, greeting cards, announcements and more.  The JETvarnish 3D's 100% digital operation requires no plates, screens or expensive makeready, perfect for runs from one to thousands or more.

Other key features include sheet sizes up to 20x42", full variable data capabilities, a new camera system that ensures precise registration to printed pages and spot UV coating directly onto most digital or offset prints with no lamination required.
