The seventh installment of vjoonity, the international vjoon K4 user conference for publishing industry players, is set to take place on October 26 in Hamburg under the motto, Print & Digital: Managing Two Sides of the Same Coin. This year's event features yet another impressive roster of top-notch national and international speakers who will share their insight into the latest market trends and hot topics in the business. One of the top speakers slated for the morning session is media expert Michael Geffken, director and general manager of the Leipzig School of Media. He will talk about the effects and consequences of the media transformation. Will O'Connor of Condé Nast USA will present the multinational group's publishing strategy. Benjamin Müller and Florian Wermke of Burda Digital Systems GmbH will discuss the automated world of TV guides such as TV Spielfilm. Rodale Inc.'s Scott Protchko will be on hand to talk about his company's experience publishing Men's Health, Runner's World and other magazines using vjoon K4 in a presentation entitled "vjoon K4, 6 Publications, 1 Year." Felix Signer from the Swiss firm galledia will explain how to efficiently manage complex corporate publishing environments. On the afternoon's agenda are several workshops that will examine these and related topics in greater depth, particularly tablet publishing and new concepts for editorial workflows. This annual highlight on the industry events calendar will be hosted by vjoon GmbH, one of the leading providers of cross-media publishing platforms.
New version of vjoon K4 software
"We are proud to be able to present such a first-rate program to our international audience. With these speakers and topics, we are addressing all the right issues in the industry," says vjoon CEO Andreas Schrader. Further highlights at vjoonity include a preview of the upcoming version of vjoon K4 and a presentation of the product roadmap. "Our guests can look forward to many new software features such as a new thumbnail view that enables users to conveniently preview the individual components of a publication, including the associated metadata. What's more, multichannel workflows will be even more streamlined in future," adds Schrader.
Around 150 international publishing industry users and partners take part in vjoonity every year. This year's venue for the conference will be the Hotel Intercontinental on the banks of Hamburg's Aussenalster river. An extended tour for the Americas is slated soon after on November 16 in Philadelphia, USA. It will be hosted by Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), the exclusive vjoon integration partner for America. MEI's Pro Pub Summit caters mainly to users in North and South America. "We will continue stepping up our presence on the two American continents, so staging another user conference for customers in our largest market is a logical move, which had already been made with great success in the past," notes Schrader. Dennis McGuire, CEO and president of MEI, adds, "This year's event in Philadelphia offers American customers the opportunity to meet their colleagues, exchange ideas and find out more about the innovative practices and future plans for the technology in their core business."
