Chicago, IL (September 04, 2008) - The Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association (PII) is offering an exciting educational opportunity for industry professionals that will focus on many business- and strategy-related industry issues, including sustainable and green printing practices. PII's Day of Results, scheduled for Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, promises to challenge and illuminate participants.
Day of Results will tackle many issues, covering three learning tracks - Business Strategy, Making It Work and Tomorrow's Tools Today - but one of the main focuses will be on green, sustainable printing. In his keynote luncheon address, "How is the Printing Industry Responding to Sustainability?," Gary Jones of the Printing Industries of America (PIA/GATF) will reveal the purpose, goals and requirements of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, an industry-specific recognition program that encourages participation in the movement to reduce environmental impact and increase social responsibility of the print and graphic communications industry through sustainable green printing practices. The SGP Partnership began accepting applications for SGP certification Aug. 28 and will publish a registry of certified firms.
With a speaker lineup featuring respected industry experts like Cat Moriarty of the U.S. Postal Service, Julie Higgins of Xerox, Paul Reilly of Compass Capital Partners, and Emily Nelson and Steve Key of GE Capital Solutions, PII's Day of Results will be packed with information attendees can put to immediate use when they leave the conference.
The event is open to the public, and more information and the registration form can be found at pii.org. Interested parties can contact Laura Knapp at 312-580-3044 or
