Press release from the issuing company
After a successful run at Drupa 2012 in Dusseldorf earlier this year, ODM is returning to Graph Expo 2012 in Chicago! ODM will be located with Konica, in booth 421 where we will showcase our ODM Sidewinder, ODM Sticker & ODM Smasher. We have partnered with Mohawk and Konica to produce Layflat Panoramic Hardcover books, live on the Graph Expo show floor for you.
Konica will print the photo book on Mohawk Panoramic layflat sheets digitially and delivery to the ODM equipment to begin the process of making it into a hardcover book. The ODM Sidewinder will take the flat sheets and create a layflat book block. At the ODM Sticker & ODM Smasher station, the book block will joined with the previously made cover to create your very own layflat Panoramic Hardcover book.
The ODM Sidewinder is an automated, on-demand bindery system that is designed for Mohawk's Panoramic line of i-Tone photo papers. Mohawk paired its exclusive i-Tone digital surface treatment with TRU-Flat technology from Convertible Solutions to papers that are easy to bind with ODM's Sidewinder bindery system. The ODM Sidewinder self-contained bindery system that scores, folds, and presses book blocks up to 27" x 14.5" open and 1.5 inches thick.
The ODM Sticker single blade casing-in machine is an ideal solution for short run casing-in. The ODM Sticker will allow you to do a book from 4"x4" up to 11"x14" and up to 4" thick. The binding process is finished with the ODM Smasher, a single station self-adjusting hydraulic building in machine.
As we focus on this specific layflat application during Graph Expo, our remaining equipment will not be on display in Chicago. However, we will have videos and information on each of these pieces of equipment, plus included below are more details also! Stop by booth 421 for all the information on the ODM Product line.
