A fresh approach to both printed and mobile newspaper publishing from Agfa Graphics at WAN-IFRA World Publishing Expo 2012
At World Publishing Expo 2012, Agfa Graphics will highlight its new solutions for newspaper publishers and printers alike by showcasing its industrial production systems for both print and mobile publishing.
Today's newspaper industry is looking at new ways to optimize the production environment, finding balance between their conventional print and digital publishing in a profitable way. Agfa Graphics, building on its longexperience in automating print related production workflows, brings the same industrial approach to mobile publishing with :Arkitex Eversify and other managed services in the cloud. "We feel a strong concern amongst printers and publishers in the newspaper industry about business models for mobile applications," says Andy Grant, Global Director of Software, Agfa Graphics."Building on our pre-media solutions for print, we can offer publishers a path to success for the new digital media as well."
The new managed services and dedicated cloud infrastructure enable publishers and printers to streamline their production flows for paper and mobile devices. :Arkitex Cloud from Agfa Graphics is such service. It offers the complete pre-press software and hardware in the cloud to minimize operational cost and IT infrastructure. And :Arkitex Eversify automates mobile publishing of contents using SaaS (Software as a Service) technology in the cloud. Both systems offer the highest degree of business continuity and automation, whilst optimizing operational cost and creating sustainable production environments.
Shown for the first time will be a solution to improve print quality on older presses that suffer from mechanical mis-registration. :Arkitex PressRegister is a unique solution that automatically corrects imaging data to produce high-quality printing products, while saving time and money.
Agfa Graphics will also present VeriPress for :Arkitex, offering press room proofing in a print production environment, as well as the new high-speed :Advantage N HS platesetters for high-volume newspaper printers. Both were announced at drupa 2012.
Last but not least additional ecological benefits are introduced onto Agfa Graphics' well known violet chemistry-free pre-press systems, all bringing newspaper customers lower environmental impact, further cost savings and less maintenance.
