NAPL Print Excellence and Industry Awards

Quick and Small Commercial Printing Companies to be Recognized During 2012 NAQP Owners Conference in Chicago.
 
The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) proudly announces the winners of 2012 NAQP Print Excellence and Industry Awards. Twelve printers from across the United States will receive Print Excellence honors during the annual Awards Luncheon at the NAQP Owners Conference in Chicago on Friday, Oct. 5. Five Industry Award winners will be recognized at the conference's Industry Luncheon on Saturday, Oct 6.
 
Print Excellence Awards are presented to quick and small commercial printers for industry excellence in 11 categories, ranging from one-color offset printing to binding and finishing, in-house design, wide format, high-production digital printing, and cross-media campaigns.
 
"These awards showcase the high level of craftsmanship and industry knowledge among quick and small commercial printers," said NAPL President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph P. Truncale, Ph.D.  "They reflect their abilities not only in a wide range of printing processes, but also in new disciplines such as marketing and mixed media campaigns. We are very proud to be honoring the members of this talented and dedicated group."
 
Industry Awards
Rick Schildgen, President of CL Graphics in Crystal Lake, Ill., will be honored as NAQP Printer of the Year, an award presented to the quick or small commercial printer who exemplifies the best in the industry. Criteria include operating a successful, customer responsive business, demonstrating creativity/vision, exhibiting service to community groups and industry organizations, and serving as a role model for future generations.
 
Carl Gerhardt, Chairman of the Allegra Network LLC, Plymouth, Mich., will be presented with the Industry Award of Distinction, and Bob Hall, President of Hearthstone Communications, Charleston, W.Va., will be named 2012 Honorary Lifetime Member. Supplier of the Year honors will go to Xerox, Webster, N.Y., and Product of the Year Award will be presented to Duplo USA Corporation, Santa Ana, Calif., for the Duplo 745 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser, an all-in-one digital color finishing solution.

The 2012 NAQP Owners Conference?Embracing Change: Finding New Paths to Profits?will take place Oct. 4-6 at the DoubleTree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile. The only industry event dedicated solely to the specific issues and interests of owners and executives in the quick and small commercial printer segment, the conference includes a full spectrum of general and breakout sessions on topics ranging from equipment financing and new technologies to online marketing and balancing sales and ownership responsibilities. Attendees also receive a free pass to the GRAPH EXPO show floor and may participate in an exclusive pre-opening GRAPH EXPO private session on Sunday, Oct. 7.
