Young actors become world famous West End stars helped in part by an Intec CP2020. London drama school Perform Workshops Ltd transforms promising students into stage legends and it recruits them by producing dazzling advertising campaigns on its Intec heavy stock colour digital printer.
“We were looking for a versatile, fast, reliable and easy to use printer that could handle a variety of media,” explains owner Will Barnett. “We print postcards advertising our drama, dance and singing classes as well as letters in printed envelopes and we needed a printer that could deal with this challenging work.
“Previously we were relying on flyers and letters in envelopes to attract students but the Intec enables us to be more imaginative. Now we are producing slicker, more fun advertising post that I think parents will enjoy receiving.
“We have cut down on the time it usually takes to print a mailer and then put it through the post machine as well. We now print directly onto postcards, which are then mailed out,” he says. “In terms of advertising we do everything ourselves; our designer designs the postcards and/or flyers and we have our own data, which we merge.” Peter Swann, Intec Channel Manager for the UK and Ireland, adds: “The Intec handles card, board, magnetic media and other media types up to 512gsm, giving users like Will a great many options when it comes to business promotion. With the addition of the popular PrintShop Mail Suite variable data software, it is possible to personalise these postcards, letters and envelopes to further improve success rates.”
Perform, which employs 120 teachers, was established in 2000 and while the ethos is on fun, children also benefit from “greater confidence, improved concentration and an increased awareness of what they can achieve”.
