Press release from the issuing company
The KODAK MAGNUS 800 Platesetter is already recognized as a leader in the field, and now the newest features make it even more compelling for customers looking to increase productivity. Most significant are the 27 percent increase in throughput and new power save mode, which, combined with WINDOWS 7 support, gigabit Ethernet connectivity to KODAK PRINERGY Workflow, improved remote support capabilities including remote on/off increasing operation flexibility, and a new design, make the device even more efficient and user friendly.
On display last month at drupa 2012, the MAGNUS 800 Platesetter is designed for medium and large commercial printers needing high-quality imaging and high productivity. The device features options for advanced automation, including the industry’s only Automatic Pallet Loader (APL). In addition, KODAK SQUARESPOT Imaging Technology on the MAGNUS 800 Platesetter provides outstanding stability, reliability, and accuracy with resolutions up to 10,000 dpi.
“Kodak is the only supplier to manufacture the whole CTP system and own all the technology, including the imaging device, plates, and workflow, and we continue to invest in our products and technology to meet the changing needs of customers,” said Rich Rindo, General Manager, Worldwide Graphics Marketing and Vice President of Graphics, Entertainment, and Commercial Film, Kodak. “With the new features introduced at drupa, the MAGNUS 800 Platesetter becomes an even more potent tool for plate production. When paired with the new KODAK SONORA XP Process Free Plates, customers have a reliable, high-quality, environmentally responsible solution to drive business growth in their operations.”
Attendees at drupa flocked to the Kodak stand to learn more about the new MAGNUS 800 Platesetter as well as the full range of plates and platesetters that make up Kodak’s broad portfolio of solutions. The SONORA XP Process Free Plate, running live at the show on the MAGNUS 800 Platesetter, drew a crowd of visitors interested in learning how the plate could help a broad range of printers eliminate processing equipment and chemistry without sacrificing the productivity and quality they get today with their current mainstream plate. Printers in emerging markets showed particular interest in the new KODAK ACHIEVE All-in-One CTP System, which includes everything a printer needs at an affordable price, including platesetter, plates, workflow software, processor, and chemistry. This value-based CTP solution is ideal for those printers looking to make a smooth transition to thermal imaging.
“We were impressed by the number of attendees seeking sensible, proven CTP solutions at the show,” Rindo added. “With such a wide variety from which to choose, customers can easily find a solution that fits the individual needs of their operations. Kodak is continually developing new features and new models to keep up with the changing demands of print markets around the world. Our experience and success at drupa tell us that we are achieving our goal.”
