Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the largest privately held companies in the United States and a global provider of customer solutions, has announced that Unisource Engineered Solutions (UES) – its packaging engineering and design group – has achieved International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) certification for Unisource facilities in Cerritos, CA and New Berlin, WI.
“These two world-class labs are another step in Unisource’s commitment to enhance customer value by providing both ISTA certification for package testing, and also the capabilities to test a myriad of materials and products under the most exacting conditions,” said Kim Seeberg, Vice President – Sales, Industry Business Group – Manufacturing for Unisource. “Our packaging engineering centers feature state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to engineer efficient and cost-effective solutions through package and material testing, as well as helping the customer improve product ruggedness.”
Unisource recently relaunched the New Berlin, WI location, now referred to as the Milwaukee Engineering Center, and opened a new facility in Cerritos, CA, called the Los Angeles Engineering Center. The state-of-the-art engineering centers are staffed by structural engineers, creative designers, and program managers who are innovators in packaging, bringing true material-neutral design, advanced engineering, rapid prototyping, in-house testing capabilities, and the latest graphics and printing technology directly to Unisource customers.
By balancing creativity, performance, and cost control, UES offers customers optimum packaging solutions for engaging consumers and driving revenue. With its material-neutral engineering and creative graphic design, UES can help customers quickly engage their consumers with eye-catching packaging that closes the gap between the shelf and the shopping cart.
A pioneer of package-performance testing over 60 years ago, ISTA is now the most trusted, knowledgeable, and respected authority in this arena. Attaining ISTA Laboratory Certification demonstrates a company’s strong commitment to transport packaging professionalism, as well as assuring that a laboratory is properly equipped to conduct package-performance testing.
