The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has released its changes to the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), and SGIA has full details online. OSHA has made the changes to align the US with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), which gives workers the ‘right to understand’. “Changes to OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard will impact our entire membership,” said Kinter. “Basically, chemical manufacturers need to implement a new labeling and hazard determination protocol, and imaging facilities need to change their training to incorporate information on the new labeling, MSDS criteria.”
