CGS' ORIS Press Matcher // Web Powers IDEAlliance Award Winners

Press release from the issuing company

CGS Publishing Technologies International (www.cgs-oris.com), a leading provider of advanced color management technologies for digital and conventional printing, today announced that the HP Indigo 7600 and 5600 Digital Presses featuring ORIS Press Matcher // Web color management have been awarded the prestigious IDEAlliance Digital Press Certification for excellence in color reproduction.

The program certifies the commercial production capabilities of high-end digital presses, including both xerographic and inkjet devices, to meet specific print standards. Systems receiving certification are rigorously tested, and must meet or exceed established industry tolerances for excellence in the areas of colorimetric accuracy, uniformity, repeatability, durability, and registration. The program considers the entire press system, including the digital front-end, print engine, and paper.

The certification program is similar to GRACoL and SWOP for inkjet proofing. The certification framework is based on upcoming international standards ISO 12647-8, 15311, and 15339.

ORIS Press Matcher // Web’s patented iterative four-dimensional color matching of the Indigo press to the GRACoL specification, and its integrated grey balance stabilization, enabled both presses to perform well within tolerances with extremely low average delta-E deviation, and minimal variation over the 1,000-sheet press runs. HP SmartStream Production Pro Print Server 4.5, and Sterling Ultra Digital 148gsm paper, completed the picture to provide a perfect combination of software, hardware, and media.

Both the HP Indigo 7600 and 5600 presses and ORIS Press Matcher // Web are available now. For information, contact [email protected] or visit www.hp.com/go/indigo.
