Free Webinar: Managing Inks the Modern Way

Press release from the issuing company

WhatTheyThink today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Managing Inks the Modern Way will be led by WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne and is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20th, 2012, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM EDT (-4 GMT).

No-charge registration is available by visiting WhatTheyThink.com and selecting the Webinars tab.

“Improving the management of inks in a printing operation can save money, time and space,” said Sherburne. “It can also contribute to higher quality of printed output and reduce the amount of ink that must be thrown away. Learn from two successful printing firms who have updated their ink management strategies and are reaping the benefits.”

Sherburne will joined by:

Julio Lara, Multi-Plant Manager, Albéa (formerly Alcan Packaging), is an experienced multilingual operations manufacturing executive with an excellent understanding of transformational processes, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma that has allowed him to implement unique and highly effective cost reduction and productivity enhancement programs. Lara has managed transformation projects including plant start-up; ISO, OSHAS, CI, and Quality & Safety audits and certifications, plant restructuring and plant closures.

Janet Steiner is the President and CEO of Thoro Packaging, a manufacturer of folding cartons for products of high value in the medical/pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Thoro is known for its innovative and award-winning cartons.

“Although ink does not represent a huge percentage of overall printing cost, in a tight market, anywhere a printing or packaging business can reduce spend and increase quality has benefit,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “These companies are a good example of doing just that. We are very pleased that Sun Chemical is sponsoring this event, allowing us to offer this important educational session to attendees at no cost.”

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
