Press release from the issuing company

CMC, a leading manufacturer of inserting, paper and film wrapping systems, and on-demand print-finishing systems announced great response in product interest and show sales at drupa, May 3-16.

“drupa was a great success for CMC,” stated Francesco Ponti, CMC’s CEO.  “Our solutions shown in both stands were well received by our dealers, distributors and end-user customers and confirmed that the company is headed in the right direction for providing efficient and productive solutions to best complement today’s digital and inkjet technologies.”

drupa Highlights
At its stand in Hall 5, CMC introduced an input channel capable of dynamic cutting and folding of documents on its industry leading JWR paper wrapping system for the mailing industry.  This hybrid system now allows mailers to dramatically reduce overall material costs through procurement, storage and distribution savings.  They can further capitalize on the conversion to digital print by comingling multiple jobs and adding personalized content to the “typical” mailing insert.  Full color inline envelope printing utilizing HP C500 color print modules allows further personalization and messaging consistent to the envelope contents.

At its stand in Hall 14, the innovation for digital finishing continued with the world premier of the YouBook system for perfect binding.  While shown as a fully integrated system, the various components of this system can be configured to any CMC system to create a full On Demand Solution.  This single system had the ability to create variable thickness, side or saddle stitched documents, with or without a cover; the ability to perfect bind and three-knife trim books of varying thickness – with all adjustments done automatically; and the ability to process DL, C5 and C4 mailings on the integrated CMC 150 inserter.

A high speed cutting system, up to 96,000 2-up pages per hour, and an automatic document reprint function further added to productivity and efficiency of the CMC 9000 envelope inserting system capable of operating at up to 30,000 envelopes per hour.

Several applications were shown on the CMC 2800 film wrapping system to demonstrate how CMC’s experience with intelligent document handling can be utilized in a film environment requiring high integrity.

Based on number of visitors and the image presented, drupa 2012 was a huge success for CMC.
