Press release from the issuing company
A record number of more than 40 companies, serving a variety of segments and applications in the global printing market, are featuring Kodak’s products and technologies in their stands or providing their products for demonstrations at Kodak’s stand at drupa 2012.
“As the adoption of hybrid printing continues to accelerate, partnerships play an essential role in our commitment to driving the medium and industry of print forward,” said Chris Payne, Kodak’s Director and Vice President Marketing, Commercial Business. “By working with partners that have deep experience and expertise in specific areas of the commercial print space, we can contribute to the success of these companies and their customers, bringing our products and technologies to an even greater audience.”
In today’s hybrid world of print, Kodak’s approach to partnerships in the graphic communications market includes providing the core technology to vendors that use it to develop new solutions. For example, Timsons Printing Machinery’s new TIMSON T-Press incorporates KODAK Stream Inkjet Technology to create the fastest, widest, digital inkjet press available for the production of black-and-white trade and textbooks.
The TIMSON T-Press will be on display at KOLBUS’s stand in Hall 16, stands D22-1/D22-2. The TIMSON T-Press will include the T-Fold finishing system producing printed and folded signatures running in line with a KOLBUS Binding System to demonstrate the short-run capabilities of both systems.
“The TIMSON T-Press was created based on a request from our customer, Clays, for a book printing system that would accommodate and sustain their rapid growth in the book printing market,” said Jeff Ward, Managing Director, Timsons. “We selected KODAK Stream Inkjet Technology to power the press because it offered the best solution to meet our goal of delivering the greatest productivity, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of any digital press.”
Kodak also works with dozens of companies that market its products as part of a total solutions package to their customers. For example, press manufacturer, KBA, will feature a fully-integrated prepress solution in its drupa stand. The KODAK PRINERGY CONNECT Workflow System will be running with the KODAK MAGNUS 800 Platesetter with Multi-Cassette Unit exposing the KODAK TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plate.
The MAGNUS 800 Platesetter is a reliable 8-page computer to plate (CTP) device with advanced automation options, offering exceptional productivity and stability to meet the needs of offset printers. TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plates help printers meet the competitive pressures to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time while increasing consistency and quality. With an impressive combination of outstanding productivity and performance, significantly lower total cost of use, and reduced environmental impact when compared with typical digital processed plates in the market today, TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plates provide a solution to these challenges.
KOMORI will print daily high-demanding jobs on its H-UV printing presses using the KODAK SWORD ULTRA Thermal Plate. Delivering exceptional quality and durability, SWORD ULTRA Thermal Plates are ideal for printers who need a robust CTP plate and require high productivity. Color proofs from the KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing System and ink key settings will be generated by the KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System.
In another application, Illies Graphik will print on-site the German trade magazineDeutscher Drucker on a RYOBI 928 PRESS using TRILLIAN SP Plates.
