Global Graphics to show latest Harlequin RIP technology at drupa 2004

Cambridge, UK; February 17, 2004– The first JDF-enabled Harlequin RIP will be demonstrated by Global Graphics at drupa 2004. Global Graphics, a subsidiary of Global Graphics SA, is co-exhibiting with the PrintCity strategic alliance and will be present alongside other JDF-capable vendors and developers in the CIP4 JDF Parc. A leading developer and supplier of the high-performance Harlequin and Jaws RIPs, Jaws PDF technologies, workflow and color solutions to OEMs, Global Graphics Software technology is at the heart of many digital proofing, computer to plate, digital press and document management systems worldwide. More than 25 leading vendors at drupa will be demonstrating a wide range of products featuring Global Graphics production technology, including: AB Dick, Agfa-Gevaert, Compose, Creo, Screen, ECRM, Heidelberg, KPG, PressTek, RealTimeImage, and Xitron. Within the PrintCity Networking Hub, Global Graphics will demonstrate the new JDF-enabled Harlequin RIP specifically handling a remote proofing application as part of a ‘live’ multi-vendor integrated production workflow. In the demonstration, PDF files delivered by an Agfa workflow will be automatically processed by the Harlequin RIP and output at high speed and quality to an inkjet proofer. Visitors and OEMs will be able to see the full, JDF v1.1 compliant, capability of the Harlequin RIP to automatically control rendering, screening, trapping, color management, calibration and output of combined or separated files both here and in the CIP4 JDF Parc.
