Press release from the issuing company
IMPIKA announced today that French market leader Diffusion Plus Group has purchased a standard configuration, twin-engine iPrint eVolution platform to support its European services network. The purchase complements Diffusion Plus Groups’ existing portfolio of printers and reinforces the company’s commitment to excellence in color reproduction as a member of the CPX (Color Process eXperience eXchange) Group.
In selecting the iPrint eVolution, the Diffusion Plus Group underlined the importance of the Impika DOD (drop-on-demand) technology, noting that color performance was a critical differentiating factor. The iPrint eVolution platform further ensures that Diffusion Plus Group will have the ability to ramp up its production to 150 m/min based on standard process color, while producing finished publications and variable data direct marketing pieces on a single machine.
William MERIEL, President and Founder of the Diffusion Plus Group noted, "We are pleased to invest sustainably, to support Diffusion Plus direct marketing activities. We believe that DOD inkjet technology with which we have ten years’ experience in document workflow and transpromotional work through our subsidiary, Data One, has reached a level of quality corresponding to the expectations of marketing communicators.”
“Several factors were important in our selection of the iPrint eVolution,” continued Meriel. “First, we were impressed by IMPIKA’s innovative and promising product strategy, a clear and differentiating factor. Secondly, IMPIKA offered very promising industrial synergies with leading companies in our field, and in particular, with our partner, TagG Informatique, a major player in the French market also equipped with Impika technology.”
For the Diffusion Plus Group the IMPIKA printer represents an addition to a portfolio of 13 digital printers, both laser and inkjet configured for double width and duplex full color printing. The iPrint eVolution is installed in standard mode (76 m/min at standard resolution) and is already producing impressive client applications. Diffusion Plus expects to quickly capitalize on the iPrint eVolution’s scalability to increase output to 150 m/min and even to 250m/min as Diffusion Plus Group subsidiaries, including the most recent addition to the group, Gocad Value, gain experience with the machine.
Loic Lefebvre, Director of Development for the Diffusion Plus Group, noted that the purchase of the iPrint eVolution, “together with our unique and recognized expertise in color, gives us the ability to propose fully customized, high quality color mailings on demand. One-to-one marketing is a reality and we should soon pass the one billion mark in terms of pages printed per year, all based on continuous feed white paper stock, a significant milestone for an independent group such as ours.” Loïc Lefebvre added, “The Diffusion Plus Group is probably the only player in the market whose turnover is split evenly between ‘direct marketing’ and ‘transactional printing’.”
After ISETO Corporation (Japan) and DST Output (USA), Diffusion Plus Group is the third member of the CPX Group to adopt IMPIKA inkjet technology. The CPX Group, founded in 2005, is a forum in which the world's leading multi-channel communicators meet to consider topics relating to the advancement and perfection of the industrial inkjet.
