TECHKON Announces New Products at drupa 2012

Press release from the issuing company

TECHKON GmbH presents the new generation of its spectro-densitometer SpectroDens.

SpectroDens – the mobile, multi-talent spectro-densitometer.

The completely new designed instrument is not just smaller and more ergonomic, it is equipped with a high resolution color display. Color is not just measured, it is shown on the display as well. Understanding CIE L*a*b* values is now easier than ever before.

Using the latest LED technology, the instrument can provide also D50 illumination and is fulfilling the M1 measuring conditions in accordance to ISO 13655. Lifetime of the new LED illumination is nearly unlimited. With the new design of the measuring head the instrument is also able to read reliable values on structured surfaces.

Cables are not longer necessary to transmit data to the computer. The new instrument can be connected to a WLAN network to send information via wireless data transmission to the computer. SpectroDens still offers USB cable connection also.

Beside single measurements the instrument can do short scan measurements as well. This will speed up the control process and reduce measurement time. Tracking wheels on the bottom ensure a straight run and allow the user to scan color patches or a step wedge fast and easy.

TECHKON ExPresso Server – Network capabilities for ExPresso 3
ExPresso 3 displays all relevant information for controlling the printing press. The program also shows ink zone specific density information and recommendations how to set the printing press “in color”. Combined with the scanning color measuring instruments SpectroDrive and SpectroJet it is the right tool to increase efficiency and reduce cost, time and waste. Going green is easy with TECHKON products.

With the ExPresso Server all ExPresso 3 workstations can be connected to each other within a company’s network. Preparing printing jobs, checking print quality reports and maintaining color library is possible with a common web browser. Herewith Smart Phones and Tablet PC’s like iPhone or iPad can be used as well. ExPresso Server allows users the flexibility to enter job and color information and check the quality of printing jobs trough the local network.

Register measuring with the iPhone App TECHKON iRegister
With the new iPhone App it is possible to measure register deviations of printing presses. TECHKON offers this easy to use and cheap solution as successor of its discontinued register measuring system RMS 910.

Deviations in X- and Y-direction based on a selected reference color will be calculated by just taking a snap shot with the iPhone camera. The App is intuitive to use and all values and images will be memorized.

The App is available in iTunes store. For correct and comfortable positioning of the iPhone a holding system is offered from TECHKON. The holder has additionally a magnifier lens to increase the accuracy of the iPhone camera.
