Press release from the issuing company
Sandy Alexander announced today that they have received the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) certification. The mission of the SGP certification is to reduce the environmental impact and increase social responsibility of the graphic communications industry through continuous improvement of sustainability and best practices within a company’s manufacturing operations.
Sandy Alexander’s wide & grand format facility provides printing for out-of-home advertising and retail visual merchandising on a range of sustainable substrates including digital and photographic papers, vinyls and rigid materials. Sandy Alexander has experienced explosive growth in the wide & grand format business due to industry leading color management, the most effective and economical large-format printers ever developed and an industry leading environmental effort.
“Sandy Alexander is committed to continuous improvement and to leading the graphic communications industry by example, “said Sandy Alexander President & CEO, Mike Graff. “By implementing changes that reduce our environmental footprint without compromising the quality and service for which Sandy Alexander is known, and by transparently reporting on our environmental goals and performance, we are demonstrating to our many stakeholder groups that sustainability is a sound—and desirable-- business practice.”
“The SGP certification further solidifies our leadership position in protecting the environment. Along with the SGP certification, Sandy Alexander is 3 rd party certified for 100% wind energy, tri-certified for chain–of– custody sustainable paper (FSC, SFI, PEFC) and ISO 14001 certified. We expect the SGP certification to have a positive impact on our business and sustainability efforts as more and more consumers demand more environmentally sound and socially responsible corporations.”
“SGP Certification is another significant achievement for Sandy Alexander. It demonstrates their commitment to being one of the most sustainable printing companies,” states Gary Jones, SGP Technical Committee Chair and board member. “Sandy is a well-known pioneer in the sustainability movement for print facilities, and the SGP certification provides the recognition to meet the growing supply chain requirements for more sustainable printing.”
