Hohner to Launch New Saddle Binder at drupa 2012

Press release from the issuing company

Hohner has announced that Drupa 2012 will be site for the launch of its new saddle binder. The latest generation HSB 13.000 saddle binder will replace the former HSB 10.000 saddle stitcher.  Obviously fully automated, but even more efficient, with 13.000 cycles per hour, and designed for ease of handling and reduced manpower requirements. Thus the new HSB 13.000 represents the most future oriented solution for your saddle binding applications.

The new HSB 13.000 is equipped with a completely new drive technology, managed by Hohner’s proprietary ” Motion Control”, which is an advanced, and forward-looking software, offering optimized automation The new saddle binder  is fully automated up to, and including, the highly efficient stacker. This allows for  shorter set-up times for changeovers to different formats (now up to DIN A3), and provides an important advantage in a market with steadily smaller print runs and more and more diversified order profiles.

The new stitch control system can be set without any mechanical adjustments, and is only one of the many innovations providing added value.

Obviously, in the interest of the final customer, Hohner has also taken great care in designing the HSB 13.000 in order to provide the highest quality level of the finished print product.  True to the motto “Perfection In Postpress” an optional optical recognition  system surveying by either image comparison mode, or bar code reading, insures the consistency of quality through- out the production process.

The aforementioned new drive concept was developed with the clear focus of offering the best possible service support, and providing a new, integrated operating data acquisition system with diagnostic tools and the added possibility of remote servicing by video conference.

As extreme ease of handling has always been one of Hohner’s core competencies in the field of saddle binders, it is no surprise that, in times of Ipads and Iphones, that the advanced navigational center of the HSB 13.000 is a graphically enhanced colour touch screen, that manages and controls all single aggregates (feeders, cover-feeder, stitching unit, trimmer and stacker) of the machine. However, the individual control of each aggregate, is also allowable by use of decentralized touch panels, positioned at each station.

Last but not least, the innovations designed into the HSB 13.000 did not spare the trimmer. Indeed, the trimmer of the new HSB 13.000 reconfirms Hohner’s dedication to forward thinking by the inclusion of a new self-synchronisation system that enhances the knife changing task. Further broadening the capabilities of the HSB 13.000 are optional multi-hole punches as well as corner rounders.

Customers will appreciate new HSB 13.000 saddle binder’s combination of state-of–the-art technology and Hohner’s reputation for quality, reliability, dedication to high levels of productivity  and achievement of short set-up times.
