Press release from the issuing company
MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the French manufacturer of digital printing and finishing solutions, confirmed today that it has acquired majority ownership in German industrial manufacturer KÖRA-PACKMAT GmbH.
MGI and KÖRA-PACKMAT have had a strategic industrial collaboration since 2005, which has now officially evolved with MGI Digital Graphic Technology’s acquisition of majority ownership in KÖRA-PACKMAT, now forming the "MGI Group".
In line with its strategy of developing digital printing solutions, MGI has accelerated the integration of new precision mechanical and technical know-how.
Whether electronics, chemistry, information technology or precision engineering, the MGI Group now becomes one of the few independent manufacturers mastering the complete production chain aimed at developing future digital inkjet presses.
"We are very pleased with this acquisition" announced Edmond Abergel, MGI Group Chairman. "With the evolution of our inkjet printing systems, it was important to fuse our industrial and economic synergies to better develop and manufacture future MGI print technologies. The French innovation and creativity merged with German quality and reliability makes this project an ambitious and pertinent challenge”, concludes Edmond Abergel.
The MGI Group will present a wide range of digital technologies at drupa (Düsseldorf, Germany from May 3rd to 16th, 2012), including new breakthrough technologies resulting from this latest acquisition.
MGI and KÖRA-PACKMAT equipment will be visible on the following booths at drupa:
q MGI Digital Graphic Technology (Hall 4, booth B24)
q KÖRA-PACKMAT (Hall 3, booth A89)
