Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today named the recipients of its annual 2012 awards. The two annual Xplor Awards recognize the Technology Application and Innovator of the Year and will be presented at Xplor’s award ceremony and luncheon on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 12:00 PM EST at the TradeWinds Island Grand Hotel and Conference Center, a 4-Star, 585-room resort destination in the Tampa Bay, Florida area.
Technology Application Award: each year, Xplor International recognizes an individual, company or an organization that has conceived and developed an original concept leading to a significant advancement in the industry. The "Innovator" has advanced a new program, product or technology that notably enhances the capabilities of electronic document systems. For 2012, the award is given to The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Ricoh Production Print Solutions for their implementation of The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power billing statement and messaging application solution. The program reduced customer inquiries, established a customer driven versus business approach and drove savings of natural resources,
Two honorable mentions for the Innovator of the Year Award category will also be given. The first to Bell and Howell for Navigator, a next-generation inserting user interface and Harmonix Technology, that synchronizes interaction between operator, machine and mail piece to ensure that each application runs at optimum speed throughout its entire run. The second honorable mention will be presented to Strategic Content Imaging, for their fully personalized advertising content magazine project which drove exceptional website activity, response rates normally achieved by targeted direct mail and conversion rates of 86%.

Innovator of the Year Award: Xplor also recognizes organizations for their imaginative application of current technology that establishes an industry’s direction. This year, Xplor is happy to award GMC Software Technology for GMC Inspire, a CCM solution that enables enterprises to effectively streamline and advance the creation and delivery of marketing, transactional and operational communications. The solution also has the ability to capture customer preferences, couple them with intelligent automation and allow businesses to customize any communication in line with corporate guidelines and legislative compliance.
In addition to GMC Inspire, two honorable mentions in this category will be given to Pitney Bowes MarketSpace, a web platform that connects high-volume transactional mailers with third-party advertisers to sell the white space on their statements, changing the industry model for transactional print.
Solimar Systems also is being awarded an honorable mention for their Rubika, a modular document re-engineering workflow software solution that automates manual processes, enable postal savings, add value to documents and dynamically modify print-ready data prior to print. Testimonials by customers show that Rubika has been responsible for driving additional revenue and reduction of cost.
All award winners will be honored at Xplor’s award ceremony and luncheon on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 12:00 PM EST. In addition, the Lifetime Achievement, Xplorer of the Year and Chairman’s Award winner will also be recognized.
