BOULDER, Colo., October 26, 2003. . . IBM today introduced new and enhanced high-function, cut-sheet printers with multifunction capability. The newest offerings in IBM’s portfolio of Enterprise Output Solutions extend the cut-sheet printer family to offer print speeds that range from 60 up to 110 pages-per-minute (ppm). The Infoprint family of multifunction production printers effectively combines true data center-centric controller with copier capabilities, providing more choices to better meet the needs of data centers and distributed print environments.
New printers announced today include the Infoprint 2090ES, Infoprint 2105ES, Infoprint 2060ES and Infoprint 2075ES. These printers offer 1200 dpi print quality and support IBM Intelligent Printer Datastream (IPDS), as well as PCL, PostScript and PDF datastreams, making them ideal for IBM eServer iSeries and zSeries environments without sacrificing compatibility with other systems. They support multiple connectivity options, including wireless Ethernet, and can be configured with a variety of finishing options, such as stapling and saddle-stitch booklet maker.
The IBM controller—in conjunction with other IBM software products and optional features—offers advanced functions including Web pages; e-mail printing and notification; send and save capability; Network Printer Manager (NPM); scan to e-mail, server or fax[1]; archive to Document Server, network status page; and a downloadable accounting log.
“The new cut-sheet family of production printers offers powerful mid-range solutions that broaden the choices for our customers, helping them gain a competitive edge,” said David Myers, worldwide production segment executive, IBM Printing Systems. “Our previous cut-sheet models have successfully captured the attention of the market with their functional capabilities that provide greater throughput and reliability at lower costs. The extensive features of the new products and the enhancements to the IBM controllers enable our customers to produce consistent content from a variety of datastreams, including XML job tickets, making this new set of products one of the strongest cut-sheet family solutions in the market.”
