Quark Launches New iPad Magazine App for Creative Professionals

Press release from the issuing company

Quark today launched Jabber, an iPad app for designers and creative professionals that re-imagines the digital magazine. Featuring design news, designers and their work, guest commentary, and creative infographics, Jabber puts an entirely new emphasis on the reader’s experience. Built with QuarkXPress® 9 and App StudioTM, Jabber utilizes scrollable layouts, slideshows, videos, pop-ups, and HTML5 content to take advantage of the functionality made possible by the iPad.

“Tablets like the iPad have opened up a totally new opportunity for the design community to rethink magazine design,” said Gavin Drake, vice president of marketing for Quark. “With Jabber we aim to give creative professionals fun, interesting, and informative content in an app that is our take on the future of the digital magazine. With Jabber we’ll trial new approaches to digital design to push the envelope of what’s possible for designers without having to code.”

“Jabber is an innovative take on a digital magazine. The interactivity is unique and inspired, and almost surprising as you read through the first issue,” said Cindi Yaklich of Epicenter Creative. “Designers looking for examples of how to design for the iPad should take a look.”

Jabber is now available for free on the iTunes Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jabber/id477757782?mt=8.
