Press release from the issuing company
Wasatch SoftRIP SP has been instrumental in helping El Día, a daily newspaper in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, make their film separations production process more efficient. Thanks to SoftRIP SP's fast RIP speeds, powerful workflow tools, and easy-to-navigate interface, El Día has been able to save time and money and improve their overall workflow.
After becoming frustrated with their previous RIP solution that was time-consuming and wasted a lot of material, El Día began using Wasatch SoftRIP SP's Spanish Edition when they purchased their Canon imagePROGRAF iPF 710 printer from their dealer, Electrohogar. They immediately noticed a marked improvement in RIP speeds and the quality of their film output.
"With Wasatch, we've noticed much faster RIP speeds than we had with our previous RIP solution," says Mario Luca Sarabia Alanis, Production Manager. "We save between 2-5 minutes per printed plate with our Wasatch/Canon solution."
El Día currently publishes three different daily newspapers and has a total circulation of 82,000 per day. In addition to their iPF 710, El Día uses a Canon imagePROGRAF iPF 605 with Wasatch for their film output. El Día prints film every day from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. During that time, they go through two 30-meter rolls and print over 40 586x820 mm plates.
"With our Wasatch/Canon production process, we minimize wasted material and save about $1,000 per month in film and chemicals compared to our previous solution," notes Mario. "Over the course of a year, that's a savings of $12,000!"
In addition to helping El Día increase production speeds and save money, Wasatch SoftRIP SP's Spanish Edition has also helped El Día improve their overall workflow. "With hot folders, we have the ability to send jobs from different locations around our building," says Mario. "This feature helps us effectively and efficiently manage our production process."
Innovative features, such as Wasatch SoftRIP SP's Precision Rosette Hybrid Screens and Separations mode, give El Día even more options for customizing their production workflow.
