Press release from the issuing company
HP today announced that Consolidated Graphics Inc., one of the nation’s largest commercial print service providers (PSPs) offering the world’s largest integrated digital printing footprint, installed an HP T200 Color Inkjet Web Press at Veritas Document Solutions, a CGX company based in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
The new press was showcased today during an open house customer event at Veritas Document Solutions in Buffalo Grove. With the press, Veritas expands its range and quality of data-driven solutions, gaining the ability to:
· develop more opportunities in high- and mid-volume digital printing, including fast-turnaround, full-color print-on-demand publications, web-to-print marketing collateral and other commercial print applications;
· streamline bill and statement offerings by replacing two-step color offset shell printing and monochrome digital imprinting with one-pass, full-color digital production; and
· enhance direct marketing programs with affordable, high-quality, variable-data color imaging.
“Our customers come to us because they need innovative and cost-effective solutions that maximize their ROI by leveraging client-facing technologies as well as technologies that improve the entire production process,” said Michelle Steinberg, president, Veritas Document Solutions. “With the new HP T200 Color Inkjet Web Press, we can further help our clients maximize the full benefits of data-driven dynamic communications using one of the world’s most advanced color print solutions.”
High-volume productivity in a single-engine press
Veritas’s new HP T200 is a 20.5-inch wide digital color press that uses HP’s proven Scalable Printing Technology, printing up to 872 four-color pages per minute. A full duplex four-color press with a single engine, the HP T200 offers PSPs an easy route to adding fully variable color capabilities in two-up transactional print and production mail, books and other commercial print products.
Like all HP Inkjet Web Presses, the HP T200 prints on virtually any standard, uncoated paper, as well as on a growing range of treated, coated inkjet papers. Veritas installed a substrate conditioning system from WEKO with the press, as well as two in-line finishing units: a Tecnau dynamic perforating solution and a Hunkeler POPP6 rewind system with rotary cutting and sheeting features.
CGX and Veritas: On digital printing’s leading edge
Founded in 2003, Consolidated Graphics’ Veritas Document Solutions (www.veritas-solutions.com) provides comprehensive production and fulfillment services for a client roster that includes several of the country’s leading insurance industry and human resource benefits firms. The HP T200 installation strengthens Veritas’s ability to provide those clients with cost-effective and technology-driven communications solutions.
“Metropolitan Chicago is the country’s top printing market, and it is only fitting that Consolidated Graphics brings HP Inkjet Web Press capabilities to this key marketplace,” said Aurelio Maruggi, vice president and general manager, Inkjet High-speed Production Solutions, HP. “The HP T200 will yield many valuable new opportunities to Veritas and the clients it serves.”
Veritas’s new press is the second HP Inkjet Web Press operating under the Consolidated Graphics platform. In 2009, CGX installed a 30-inch wide HP T300 Color Inkjet Web Press at another one of its companies, Denver-based Frederic Printing. CGX also is the world’s largest user of HP Indigo electrophotographic digital presses, which produce high-end marketing collateral, direct mail and photo merchandise products at many CGX locations.
