Belitec Inc. Installs Truepress Jet2500UV

Press release from the issuing company

The number 3 figures prominently in the Belitec Inc. corporate logo, signifying the three legs of the company’s business structure. Digital printing is one of those legs. Architectural drawings and surveying instruments constitute the other two legs.

As a print service provider, Belitec specializes in wide-format inkjet printing and laminating for display graphics. The Screen Truepress Jet2500UV is elevating the essentials to improve the image detail and color consistency on a surprising array of projects and substrates.

“Our print quality was always quite strong, but the print quality with the Truepress Jet2500UV is far superior to what we had been able to produce,” said Jean-Philippe Laliberté, printing and prepress operator. “The definition is noticeably improved. Images are sharper, cleaner and more vibrant.”

Belitec has been doing business in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, since 1982. The company established a niche providing fast turnarounds on outdoor and indoor signs, point-of-purchase displays, banners and back-lit signage. Numerous short-run projects, many as short as one or two large storefront signs, move quickly through the Belitec shop in a day. Same-day or next-day turnarounds are pretty much the norm.

“We chose the Truepress Jet2500UV to replace a 6-year-old wide-format printer from another manufacturer,” Laliberté said. “It was a slower machine, and it really wasn’t up to speed either in terms of print quality. We compared different machines and ran many different test prints on some of our favorites. Overall, the Truepress Jet2500UV produced the most impressive prints.”

Belitec’s customers benefit from the Truepress Jet2500UV’s fast print speed and photo-quality, high-impact graphics. The Truepress Jet2500UV achieves production speeds up to 366 square feet per hour. Image quality rivals that of offset printing thanks to the eight-level grayscale printing heads and maximum output resolution of 1,500 dpi.

Print jobs at Belitec are evenly split between roll-fed and rigid materials. Even with scheduling jobs according to their media to minimize changeovers, Belitec switches back and forth from flexible to rigid substrates sometimes seven times in a day. Prints are instantly dry and ready for use. Screen’s flexible UV inks do not crack when the printed piece is bent or stretched.

“The inks adhere extremely well to the various rigid and flexible substrates we use,” Laliberté said. “The Truepress Jet2500UV delivers excellent results on vinyl, static cling, fabric, acrylic, foam core, corrugated plastic — so many types of media. The machine handles the media changes smoothly.”
