INX International's Hardware Attracts Crowds at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL – The build-up was substantial and INX International Ink Co. delivered at Graph Expo, held September 11-14 in Chicago. The company's new and impressively fast NW140 UV digital narrow web press featured Spartanics' new X140 laser cutting station.  Attracting isle-clogging crowds who were captivated by its capabilities that were on full display in demonstration mode, the NW140 makes its next appearance at LabelExpo Europe, September 28-October 1.

"We were very excited about introducing the NW140 UV digital press and so were the many people who stopped by and visited us at Graph Expo," said Jim Lambert, VP and General Manager of INX International Ink Co. – Digital Division.  "This press is very unique in several ways.  It starts with the pre-treatment that opens the door to many possibilities for all material, and is not limited to only digital friendly.  The NW140 also combines printing and conversion in one machine when using the Spartanics laser cutter, which means you don't need to remove a printed roll from the machine and put it back on for conversion. Our partners did a fantastic job helping us develop a digital press that is unmatched in the marketplace."

In addition to Spartanics' best-in-class finishing equipment, INX International teamed with Xaar, Integration Technology Limited and Phoseon Technology.  The NW140 UV digital narrow web press provides single pass printing at speeds up to 80' feet per minute on any label stock.  It employs 14 Xaar 1001 print heads, Integration Technology's air-cooled UV LED pinning system, and the Phoseon FireLine 225 high efficiency, water-cooled UV LED-curing system.

The NW140 offers a base coat application for non-treated media and will support media up to 2mm in thickness.  The LED curing lamps are used for the pre-coat, white base layer and varnish to hold the inkjet drops in position before a full cure is added by another LED lamp, and laser cutting. The end result is labels printed in brilliant color, quicker job changeovers and automated, accurate cutting paths.

When the booth crowd wasn't watching the NW140 in action, it had eyes on the CP100 cylindrical inkjet printer.  The other star offering from the EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions brand line, the CP100 offers best-in-class performance and image quality in the short-run production of decorative stainless steel water bottles.  Many booth visitors had their photos taken and walked away with personalized water bottles.

INX also debuted new EcoTech Low Migration (LM) sheetfed process color inks.  Offering high performance and designed specifically for the folding carton market, the EcoTech LM system is formulated without mineral oil, is cobalt-free and has minimal residual odor.  These inks also comply with Nestle Guidance procedures and conform to U.S. and European food packaging guidelines for outer printing.  Booth guests were impressed that the LM inks meet ISO 2846-1 standards and are suitable to GRACoL G7 certification.
