Innovation of Digital Coupon Platform Earns Second Consecutive Ranking
LIVONIA, Mich., Valassis, one of the nation's leading media and marketing services companies, announced today that it made this year's InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation's most innovative users of business technology. This is the second consecutive year Valassis has been named to this list. Valassis was recognized for the company's new technology platform, DigitalOfferExpert(TM) (DOX), which enables it to securely manage and distribute digital coupons to consumers via the Internet and mobile devices.
"Being recognized among industry leaders for our technology advances builds on the entrepreneurial spirit in which this company was built," said Steve Carrington, Vice President, Enterprise Applications and Business Intelligence. "This digital platform delivers valuable advertising venues for our clients while putting savings into consumers' hands and wallets. We continually look for ways to deliver value to consumers in innovative ways."
DOX is a robust platform that integrates multiple technology systems. It offers flexibility to advertisers and allows coupon promotions to be targeted nationally, regionally, by retailer or to a targeted group of individuals. Consumers can access these coupons online at over 1,200 deal-oriented, lifestyle, community, retailer and manufacturer websites in our network. Consumers can also print coupons or download them electronically to their participating retailer frequent shopper card.
"For 23 years, the InformationWeek 500 has chronicled and honored the most innovative users of business technology," said InformationWeek Editor in Chief Rob Preston. "In this day and age, however, being innovative isn't enough. Companies and their IT organizations need to innovate faster than ever before to stay a step or two ahead of their customers, partners, and competitors. This year's ranking placed special emphasis on those high-octane business technology innovators."
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies. Top winners have included: The Vanguard Group, CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
The 2011 list was revealed last night at a gala awards ceremony at the InformationWeek 500 Conference taking place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, Calif. Additional details on the InformationWeek 500 can be found online at www.informationweek.com/iw500/.
