2011 web2award Winners Revealed

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, – Today, Printing Industries of America and the Digital Printing Council reveal the 2011 web2award winners. In its third year, the web2awards is the premier annual award competition that names the best websites in the print/marketing service provider industry. "We are excited to see the new ways printers are implementing online tools," says Julie Shaffer, vice president, digital technologies for Printing Industries of America. "We saw a great deal of creativity and technical sophistication in this year's entries."

New to the 2011 competition is the Social Media/Cross-media/Promotional Case Study category. The John Roberts Company wins with its QR code campaign, a program that took advantage of the recent United States Postal Service (USPS) discount for campaigns using QR codes. Ann Marie Keene, marketing and business development at The John Roberts Company explains, "With minimal costs associated in launching the campaign, the results surpassed our expectations with a double-digit success rate and we acquired over $400,000 worth of new cross-media related business. It's an honor to be recognized as a web2award winner, and this has only solidified our commitment to embracing emerging technologies."

Receiving the honor of Best of Show is the Mimeo Express Checkout. Chuck Gehman, vice president of product management at Mimeo.com, says, "We are thrilled to have the judges recognize our efforts! The team is constantly working on Mimeo's user interface to make it easier and better." He explains that Mimeo Express Checkout can cut in half the time it takes to check out of an online store. "Since our customers place lots of orders, they are frequently on tight deadlines, and often at the end of their work day, this is a really important benefit," says Gehman.

Entries were judged by an expert panel in six areas: overall design, structure and navigation, content, technology, ease of use, and innovation. Entries were divided according to annual sales volume. The highest score in a given category is awarded Best of Category. All Best of Category winners were evaluated to select the Best of Show.
