Press release from the issuing company
HOUSTON, Texas U.S.A – OutputLinks Communications Group announced today that it acquired American Printer from Penton Media, including the printed magazine, website, special editorial reports, e-newsletters, online postings and online archives. American Printer is one of the most recognized information sources for today's printing professional. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition brings together American Printer with OutputLinks Communications Group's growing set of global business divisions in the corporate communication ecosphere, including GCWorldBiz, GreensheetBIZ, MPSConnect, CMOConnects, OutputLinks, OutputLinks France, OutputLinks Italy and OutputLinks Latin America.
"American Printer began serving the print industry in 1883. When we heard it was going to shut down, our team felt this print industry icon deserved to live. So we bought it. And, now we look forward to giving it new life and extending its services through our global platform," said Andy and Julie Plata, co-CEOs of OutputLinks Communications Group.
Ray Prince, president of GreensheetBIZ, an OutputLinks Communications Group division, said, "For over 120 years, American Printer has been important to printers. And now it will continue as the reliable and authoritative source of information on printing technology and management challenges. American Printer is a perfect addition to OutputLinks Communications Group's mission of helping simplify and accelerate the acquisition and implementation of corporate communication technology and related solutions."

Hooray for OutputLinks, I was sad to hear of AP's demise as it has been a source of information and enjoyment for so many years.
Thank you
