Dscoop Wins Gold and Silver Awards In the Annual Gold Ink Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago - Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative) won two awards for its Dscoop6 conference guide in the annual Gold Ink Awards, presented by Printing Impressions magazine. The organization received a gold award in the Event Programs category and a silver award in the Digital Printing, Book and Manuals category.

The conference guide, designed by Cipher Creative Group, was provided to attendees at Dscoop6 in February 2011. It included a cover digitally embossed with Scodix and kiss-cut labels to create a personalized agenda of sessions. The cover was printed by Scodix while the balance of the guide was printed by Ideal Printers. The stock for the guide was donated to Dscoop by GPA.

This year's Gold Ink Award winners were chosen from more than 1,000 entries submitted within 46 categories. Winning pieces were chosen based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect.

When I read the headline, I was thinking "Wow, did the Gold Ink Awards create a new category for 'Best Industry Association'?"

The program at DSCOOP5 was amazing. I remember opening it to the labels page and thinking, "Wow", and then right at that moment realizing the great production values of the whole piece, and flipping back and feeling the cover with the Scodix treatment. I didn't find out it was Scodix until later; until then, I had thought it was something super custom-- non-digital. An outstanding book, it's going to be hard to raise the bar on that for DSCOOP7 next March!

Congratulations to all involved, well deserved.

As a major fan of Dscoop, I just wanted to post a Congratulations message as well. This is absolutely some well-deserved recognition for a tremendous association.
