The Instant Web Companies Awarded Production of Delta SkyMiles Communications
Press release from the issuing company
Chanhassen, Minn. (October 8, 2003) — The Instant Web Companies (IWCO), an integrated direct mail services company, has been awarded a three-year contract for production of the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles frequent flyer newsletters, statements and membership credentials. IWCO began producing Delta’s SkyMiles Insider newsletter, statement and membership credentials in January 2003.
Delta issued a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) with the objective of implementing a turnkey business model for fulfillment of all SkyMiles core communications. The RFP process was designed to identify reliable, financially stable suppliers possessing the ability to meet or exceed Delta’s stringent cost, quality and service requirements.
“IWCO was selected based on several key criteria,” said Rob Borden, SkyMiles program director. “IWCO’s advanced technology platform allows us to implement high quality member communications with extensive personalization and segmentation. Their turnkey operation provides a single source for paper, plastics, envelope, inventory management, and lettershop/production needs. IWCO’s ability to produce all components at one location allows us to improve our production cycle by two weeks.”
SkyMiles communications include the Insider newsletter and statement, designed exclusively for members, featuring the latest partner offers and mileage-earning opportunities.
“IWCO’s programming capabilities allow us to extend highly targeted offers to our members, driving customer loyalty in strategic markets,” Borden said. “In addition, IWCO handles our membership credentials for SkyMiles general members, Medallion level members, and Million Milers, acting as a true single source for all member communications.”
Production of the newsletter and statement takes place at IWCO’s primary manufacturing facility in Chanhassen, MN. “We value our relationship with Delta and appreciate their confidence in our ability to deliver savings in both cost and time. This has allowed Delta to preserve this important communication while many airlines are cutting back correspondence,” said Tom Wicka, IWCO executive vice president-Marketing and Sales.
