Valery LaClaw of C-t-PLUS to Replace Landers on HDIA Board
Press release from the issuing company
Clifton Park, NY - January 29, 2004 - Heidelberg Digital Imaging Association (HDIA) executive director Joel Friedman today announces the appointment of Valery A. LaClaw, Director of Digital Print Technologies at C-t-PLUS of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, to the HDIA Board. LaClaw's appointment by HDIA president Craig Beedy was subject to, and received, majority approval by the remaining members of the Board. The official appointment was made on January 16, 2004.
The Board position opened when a significant Williamson Printing corporate reassignment resulted in Craig Landers' resignation after two and a half years. Landers said that as a result, he felt he no longer would be in a position to be of active service to the HDIA Board.
"Craig contributed a great deal to HDIA, and we have full confidence that Valery, with her considerable talent, business acumen, and experience in progressing the efforts of her own corporation and so many professional associations, will do the same for the members of HDIA," says Beedy.
In a statement provided to the Board pending her appointment, LaClaw said, "My greatest interest in a position on the HDIA Board is to further the communication within our industry where hardware and software issues arise. It does no one any good if there are solutions to be had but the communication tools to disseminate that information are unavailable or unused. As a group, I believe, we have significant clout and should not be afraid to use it for ourselves and for other members of our industry."
At C-t-PLUS, LaClaw is responsible for orchestrating all day-to-day activities for the company's PLUS Digital Print division. Parent company C-t-PLUS opened in March 2000 as a full service prepress facility catering to the catalog and publishing markets. PLUS Digital Print was founded in July of 2003. The NexPress 2100-equipped facility's focus is short-run, full color print with an emphasis on specialty stocks and database targeted marketing print.
LaClaw is also a member of the Printing Industries of Wisconsin, Chicago Book Clinic, Business Network International (past president), IPA, Wisconsin Publishers Production Club, and the Greater Milwaukee Graphic Arts Association.
