Scodix SENSE Brings Sensory Experience to Graph Expo 2011

Press release from the issuing company

Rosh Ha'ayin, - Digital enhancement pioneer Scodix is introducing its breakthrough Scodix SENSE experience at Graph Expo 2011, bringing to the US a whole new graphic arts concept that engages the senses and adds value to print. Visitors will be able to see and touch the enhanced images made possible with Scodix SENSE that offer businesses opportunities for differentiation by creating tactile effects, at Graph Expo, 11 - 14 September, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.

Shown for the first time at a national exhibition in North America, Scodix SENSE, created by the Scodix1200 Digital Press using proprietary Scodix clear polymer to produce and value adding effects, uses inkjet technology to enhance a wide range of printed products that deliver more than meets the eye. Digital and conventional print service providers (PSPs) using this technology can move into the high-value, high-margin market of printed promotions.

Production with the Scodix1200 Digital Press requires no plates, molds, screens or chemicals, and with its digital technology can print variable data effects so that each print can be different and runs of one are possible.

Scodix SENSE creates matt or gloss effects applied in thicknesses up to 70 microns to substrates from 150-350g/m2 (50-185lbs) to business cards, greetings cards, book covers, direct mail, marketing collateral and other commercial, promotional and consumer print to create innovative and distinctive products that attract attention, stay in the memory and prompt responses. A fully digital process, variable data can be used to generate specific and personalized tactile features to differentiate a wide range of printed products.

"The Scodix1200 gives an unmatched new look and tangible dimension to graphic arts products, using clear polymer in variable gradation to produce raised elements on printed images that create a memorable experience," says Ziki Kuly, Scodix VP of Marketing. "With so much media competing for our attention today, print that you can feel as well as see delivers a tremendous impact, and makes products and materials memorable."

Scodix SENSE is a wholly in-house solution enabling PSPs and their customers to control all aspects of production. An environmentally friendly experience, Scodix SENSE produces no VOCs, no waste materials and printed products are recyclable, too!

Scodix clear polymer provides up to 99 gloss units (GU), giving designers a broad scope to create printed products and packaging of exceptional character. Competitive advantages and shelf-presence of goods from cosmetics, health and beauty to pharmaceuticals can be increased though the use of Scodix SENSE
