KODAK i5800 Scanner Improves Transactional Document Processes

ROCHESTER, N.Y., – Kodak announces the KODAK i5800 Scanner, a production scanner with next-generation performance to drive efficiencies across enterprise-level transactional document processes. The user functionality and digitally-driven features of the i5800 Scanner help service bureaus and medium to large businesses achieve productivity gains and generate cost savings from high-volume document workflows including digital mail rooms, census projects, insurance claims and invoice processing.

The i5800 Scanner backs its strong performance with exceptional value, saving businesses up to 53 percent on total cost of ownership over five years. Compared to select non-Kodak scanners, the i5800 Scanner provides businesses with a better investment over five years including list price, service and support, consumables and additional image processing costs.

KODAK Dynamic Flow Technology, a primary component of the i5800 Scanner, helps businesses eliminate the need for additional image processing with built-in features that boost image accuracy and reduce overall total processing time to drive down operating costs. At up to 210 pages per minute (ppm), KODAK Dynamic Flow Technology activates a digital architecture, logic and programmability, all of which work to optimize memory allocation, streamline processing paths and customize capabilities.

Kodak's Perfect Page Image Processing technology automatically enhances image quality, corrects streaks and adjusts color, brightness, contrast, background preference and orientation. This built-in feature helps more accurately convert paper-based documents into process-ready information.

The i5800 Scanner also emphasizes user functionality to enhance operator ease-of-use and productivity. The height-adjustable transport provides users with a more ergonomic setup at the ideal scanning position. Programmable function keys deliver a simplified user experience.

With an unlimited daily volume, the i5800 Scanner is optimized for true production class environments offering rapid throughput, robust paper handling and feeder capacities. The i5800 Scanner includes an automatic 750-sheet elevator design with four settings: continuous feed, 100-sheet, 250-sheet, 500-sheet and full 750-sheet batches. With the standard feeder, the i5800 Scanner is capable of handling various paper types, from 12 lb. bond to 110 lb. index. An optional ultra-lightweight feeder accessory enables users to handle more delicate types including 7 lb. rice paper to 20 lb. bond. The i5800 includes support for multiple document sizes, from 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches, to 12 inches x 180 inches.

The i5000 Series Scanners continue to be available for purchase through Kodak's network of channel partners. The i5800 Scanner will be will be priced at $75,000 MSRP (in the U.S.).
